Dixieland Tournament
Samurai Karate Studio participates in Dixieland Tournamant
This past Saturday, August 16th, Samurai Karate Studio participated in the Dixieland Tournament, held in the Jamil Temple in Columbia, SC.
This is the tournament that is sponsored by Sensei Feldt's teacher, O'Sensei Earwood, who was hosting this competition for the 36th year in a row.
This is a great tournament that appeals to black belts as well as underbelts. It is one of the few tournaments that awards cash prizes to the top underbelt winners.
Competing for Samurai Karate Studio were Jillian Grant, sparring, weapons and kata, Amanda Schwarz, sparring and kata, Daniel Goad, weapons and sparring, Jacy Cunningham, sparing and kata, Sam Powers in weapons, kata and sparring, and Dante Sweat, sparring and kata.
Everyone did a fantastic job! It takes courage to compete in a tournament.....lots of noise, lots of distractions and the feeling that "all eyes" are starring down at you when you compete.
Each student was a wonderful ambassador for the studio. I saw a lot of great positive attitudes win or lose as well as great sportsmanship.
Several parents and family members were also present to cheer on our students. Thank you for taking the time to support your child or spouse in this event. Your support is critical to their personal development and martial arts success.
Samurai Karate Studio teaches a traditional style of Japanese karate to children and adults starting at age 4. For additional infomation you may call us at 803-462-9425 or visit our website at www.samuraikaratestudio.net.
